I’m 53 with a history with Norelco and Remington. Neither inspired me to re-purchase their brand again and each time I went back to blades for a time. This time it’s different. I’ve had this Panasonic since Christmas … using it every day for about 7 weeks now. I wanted to give it a fair test before writing this review.
1. I had no trouble getting used to it. It was comfortable from Day 1.
2. The noise level is significantly lower than my previous electric shavers, though quite a bit louder than my blades except for my weeping and wailing when I cut myself.
3. The battery lasts at least 5 days without a re-charge or slowing down even a little. I’ve never used it longer than that without recharging so I don’t know how long it will go.
4. Shaving dry is good … I have to cover some spots 2 or 3 times to get a clean shave, but I consider that normal for an electric and the end result is comfortable and smooth.
5. Shaving wet is where this razor really shines. There’s a slip of paper Panasonic puts in on how to clean the razor using hand soap and running water. Not only is this amazingly simple, I use it as a shaving technique as well and this is where the title of my review comes from. It works so well, I don’t want to stop with my face, I just want to keep shaving shoulders, arms, etc. it feels sooooo good. I’ll just leave it at that.
Those are the issues that are important to me in an electric razor. I plan on maintaining and replacing this one with another Panasonic when the time comes.

like the other reviewer said it does burn your neck if you haven’t gotten used to it. but i have found that true for razor blades as well for me. Whats great about this shaver is that it runs on a cord. some of these shavers will only run on batteries that are charged. this has no batteries to die on you and will only work with a cord. if you ever have taken the blades off one of these you see it really is only a little motor that spins some blades. the real technology and expense to one of these things in my opinion is the blades. so that is what you really are paying for so it is a bargain. if you bought the blades separate you would pay more than the price of the shaver.

for me i only shave once a week and like the fact that it works great on my long neck hairs. it also shaves my head good. for me rotary is the only way to go.

the flip up trimmer works but you kind of have to keep your thumb pressure on it compared to others i have used. just something to get used to. Because it is a corded shaver you really cant use it in the shower like others but i am sure i will get a longer life with it as my last battery powered one which only problem was the batteries died after about 2 years.

remington name is not as ritzy as bruan or norelco but remember it is just a little motor spinning some blades, nothing magical about these. and the blades cost more than this unit.

The Remington Code shaver is an innovative little dual-method-dual-head electric shaver with built-in lighting. The shaver has one two-sided clipper head with a detent-raisable comb for multiple-day body hair or beard stubble and one foil head for fine shaving. Both heads are continuously driven by the same oscillator assembly and motor. The single-foil head requires more passes than a multi-rotary or multi-foil headed shaver but the integrated clipper head clips hairs that rotaries and foils tend to miss. The foils are located to also allow optimum use for mustache trimming, it trims and shaves mustaches about as well as any electric shaver. Both heads are integrated and remove and reattach as a unit to empty fine shavings underneath the foil.

The shaver is reasonably quick and efficient for it’s configuration. On a full charge, the shaver runs at 100% duty for about 30 run-minutes, a little longer if you power on the shaver only when it’s actually cutting.

This is the first shaver I have ever owned (and have ever seen) which lights the area being shaved. Two green LEDs light when the shaver runs with a full charge and when the shaver is off and being charged. If the battery is at a partial charge, the LEDs will go dark to concentrate battery power to the motor. As the battery runs down, a third red LED at the end of the handle will glow to indicate a battery low condition. The two main LEDs are bright enough to be a night light for a dark bathroom or vanity. Also, if you ever shave in the dark in front of a mirror (for your face), or shave body hair, this shaver’s lighting has some practical and entertaining value there.

Also, this is one of the least expensive of the shavers being sold at Wal-Mart. It’s a good shaver compared to the other shavers I’ve seen. It’s an outstanding shaver for the price.

In all, this is an innovative and well-designed little shaver. The green lighting is fun attribute with some practicality as a night light and head light. I’m happy they designed it and I bought it.

Mats and Rugs
