I’ve had the battery operated Wahl pet trimmer for at least six years. I use it on my Shih Tzu dogs around their eyes/nose, private parts, and feet. The only trouble I’ve had with it is that the on/off switch didn’t work once. Being a former electronic technician I was able to troubleshoot the unit and bend part of the metal contact for the switch and it has worked fine ever since. In addition I use a rechargeable AA battery and that works fine. I think the trimmer is about as loud as my regular corded (whole body) trimmers. The dogs don’t care.
I’ve bought small corded pet trimmers but they are just a little “too big” for my small dogs. And a battery operated human mustache trimmer didn’t work since the teeth of the blades are too close together. It seems dog hairs get cut easier with wider spaced trimmer teeth. I am getting paranoid that my current trimmer may give out anytime soon so am considering getting this one as a replacement.
